The flinch factor
Speaking of Boardwalk Empire, the main problem I have is all the flinching. Take the scene where prohibition agent turned iron salesman Nelson Van Alden gets mercilessly teased by his coworkers during a demonstration of his doorstep patter.
Anybody whose attention isn’t divided between their iPad and TV has a pretty good idea what’s going to happen.
Which doesn’t make it easier to watch.
Close on the heels of the flinching issue (I’ve been contemplating a tip sheet about how to survive an encounter with Gyp Rosetti, but with season 3 about to detonate, it’s difficult to see him being a problem beyond the next episode) is fatigue from counting the people getting whacked, and in the case of Owen, packed.

Nucky Thompson: “If you were trying to be obvious, you’d never be that obvious.”
Arnold Rothstein: “This is why I enjoy our conversations.”

A day without a punchline
I saw a chicken cross a road today. Motives were not discussed.
