“Suits? Pleurisy?”

Lately I’ve been watching The Sopranos again, occasionally interrupting the DVD to do screen captures of scenes that made me laugh. Here’s one from the first season. A gangster’s wife is complaining that a stolen kitchen appliance isn’t quite up to her standards:

It wasn’t so much the mispronunciation that prompted my snort-n-save reflex – I mispronounce things plenty – as it was the consumer aspiration, even for consumers of things which fall off trucks.

In between all the fucking, the show’s writers often had fun with words, particularly malapropisms. The title of this post, for example, is how Junior Soprano referred to more than one suit.

The series was full of memorable scenes, funny and otherwise. For now I’ll leave you with this:
